Marcos will lead NDRRMC meeting amid Paeng onslaught —Palace

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will preside over the full council meeting of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Saturday afternoon to discuss response and relief measures amid the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Paeng, the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) said.

In a statement, the OPS said Marcos has been in constant communication with different government agencies on the status of Paeng to make sure that there is sufficient resource augmentation to support local government units in all affected areas.

With this, it said that the President will lead a full council meeting of the NDRRMC at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 29.

“The President has instructed national government agencies to assist the BARMM (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao) in its relief and rescue operations on the recent flooding in Maguindanao that claimed at least 67 people,” the OPS said.

“The President wants to assure them of the full support of the government. Everyone is advised to stay alert and take all precautionary measures to stay safe,” it said. —LBG/KG, GMA News
