By GMA Integrated News

Several cases of road rage were caught on video and made the news in 2023.

According to a report on "24 Oras," these included the case of a driver who pinned by a trailer truck into his delivery van.

It was in October when Benjamin Bagtas died in the alleged road altercation. He was also dragged a few meters on Road 10 in Barangay 105, Tondo.

“Gusto lang niya mapagtapos ang mga anak ko. Ang laki ng kinuha niya. Pati buhay namin kinuha niya,” said Jiny Alba, the victim’s partner.

Other road rage cases this year involved a man who claimed to be a soldier, a retired police officer, and a staff of the Land Transportation Office.)

An association of automobile owners urged motorists to prioritize diplomacy in resolving altercations.

“Kung halimbawa nagkasagian, gawin natin pag-usapan ng may diplomasya,” said Automobile Association of the Philippines AVP for Advocacy Cynthia Reyes in Jun Veneracion’s report on “24 Oras” Wednesday.

(If you were hit by another motorist, practice communicating peacefully.)

“Ikaw na ang magbigay para makaiwas tayo sa ganyang away sa kalsada na pwedeng mauwi sa di magandang resulta,” Reyes said.
