Baguio public order and safety division bashed online for citing PWD for jaywalking

The public order and safety division of Baguio City drew flak online after citing a person with disability (PWD) for jaywalking.

According to a report on “24 Oras” on Monday, Madino Codasi was accosted last week by personnel from the POSD along Magsaysay Avenue for violating the anti-jaywalking policy of the city.

The personnel said he issued Codasi the ticket because he did not immediately show his PWD ID.

Codasi said he was not able to see the “no jaywalking” sign as his right eye was already blind, while his left eye is also visually impaired.

He said he was only following the person in front of him.

The city administration, meanwhile, said it is currently investigating the incident.—Ma. Angelica Garcia/LDF, GMA News
