PCG: Over 4K passengers stranded in several regions due to Amang

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Wednesday recorded more than 4,000 passengers stranded in several regions due to Tropical Depression Amang.
 
From 8 a.m. to noon, the PCG said 4,523 passengers, truck drivers, and cargo helpers were stranded in Bicol, Eastern Visayas, and Southern Tagalog regions.

 
Eleven vessels, four motorbancas, and 732 rolling cargoes were also stranded.

Forty-two vessels and 19 motorbancas were taking shelter as a safety precaution.
 
Meanwhile, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) enforced the cancellation of trips at eight ports in the Bicol Region on Wednesday.
 
Thirteen areas were placed under Signal No. 1 as Amang continued to meander close to Catanduanes, the state weather bureau PAGASA said in its 11 a.m. bulletin on Wednesday. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
