NLEX ADVISORY: Libtong Exit closed, some lanes in San Simon not passable (Sept. 5, 7:20 a.m.)

The Libtong exit on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) northbound remained temporarily closed on Saturday, September 5, 2026, while some lanes in San Simon, Pampanga were not passable.

Below is the status of NLEX as of 7:20 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026:

Northbound:

• Libtong Exit - temporarily closed
• Tulaoc (San Simon) - Lanes 1 and 2 passable to all types of vehicles; Lane 3 not passable; water build-up on all lanes
• San Simon Interchange - Lane 1 passable to all types of vehicles; Lane 2 passable to Class 2 and 3 vehicles; Lane 3 not passable; water build-up on all lanes

Southbound:

• Tulaoc (San Simon) - Lanes 1 and 2 passable to all types of vehicles; Lane 3 not passable: water build-up on Lane 3
• San Simon Interchange - Lanes 1 and 2 passable to all types of vehicles; Lane 3 not passable; water build-up on all lanes

Heavy rains from the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) have caused flooding on NLEX for several days after the Pampanga River overflowed its banks. —KG, GMA News
