The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has permanently revoked the driver's license of a jeepney driver in Manila who was allegedly caught drunk driving.

The penalty was imposed after a video showing the driver's allegedly dangerous driving along Taft Avenue went viral on social media.

The video, posted on the Facebook page of Gabriel Go, showed the driver maneuvering the jeepney in a manner that raised concerns over road safety.

According to a report on "24 Oras," an investigation reportedly found that the driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and had also been using illegal drugs.

The LTO also found that the driver had previous traffic violations that remain unresolved.

Aside from revoking his driver's license, the LTO impounded the jeepney he was driving.

The agency has also summoned the operator of the passenger jeepney as part of its investigation. —LDF, GMA News
