One dead in Pasay City residential fire
A 39-year-old man died after fire hit a residential area in Barangay 138, Zone 15 in Pasay City on Sunday.
The fire started at the barangay hall at around 3 a.m. and quickly spread to the nearby houses, barangay chairperson Olivia Tolentino said, according to a report by Mao dela Cruz on Super Radyo dzBB.
Authorities are looking into faulty electrical wiring as the possible cause of the fire.
The fatality was identified as a sales assistant in a mall.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) declared fire out before 5 a.m.
Personnel of the Philippine National Police-Scene of the Crime Operations (PNP-SOCO) were on site to process the incident, according to a report by EJ Gomez of GMA News.
Aside from the barangay hall, the day care was also damaged by the fire.
Seven houses were damaged by the fire, the BFP said.
At least seven families or almost 30 individuals were affected by the incident.
