P158.99 million in UPLIFT assistance distributed in Davao region
At least 79,497 households in the Davao region have received P158.99 million worth of aid through the Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT), the regional office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said Tuesday.
UPLIFT is the government’s flagship program aimed at easing the financial burden on families affected by the energy crisis triggered by the conflict in the Middle East.
“Overall, around P158.994 million has been disbursed by DSWD Field Office XI under the program,” the regional office said.
Under the UPLIFT program, a household may receive P2,000 in cash assistance from the DSWD.
On Monday, the DSWD regional field office conducted a payout of UPLIFT assistance in the Marilog District, where around 2,000 families received P2,000 each.
The DSWD also conducted registration for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) to help beneficiaries obtain their National ID.— MCG, GMA News
