RAINFALL ALERT: Red in Zambales, Bataan, 3 provinces; Orange in Metro Manila (Friday, 8 p.m.)

A Red rainfall warning remains in effect over Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, and portions of Tarlac and Bulacan, as of Friday evening, according to PAGASA.

The state weather bureau raised Red, Orange, and Yellow rainfall warnings over the following areas in its 8 p.m. advisory:

Red rainfall warning (Serious flooding in flood-prone areas)

• Zambales
• Bataan
• Pampanga
• Tarlac (San Clemente, Camiling, Mayantoc, Santa Ignacia, San Jose, Capas, Bamban)
• Bulacan (Hagonoy, Paombong, Calumpit, Malolos, Obando, Meycauayan, Marilao, Bocaue, Balagtas, Guiguinto, Bulakan, Pulilan, Baliuag, Plaridel)

Orange rainfall warning (Flooding is threatening)

• Metro Manila
• Cavite
• Rizal
• Laguna (Cabuyao, Santa Rosa, Biñan, San Pedro, Pakil, Mabitac, Pangil, Santa Maria, Siniloan, Famy, Calamba)
• Batangas (Nasugbu, Lian, Calatagan, Talisay, Laurel, Calaca, Balayan, Tuy, Lemery)
• Bulacan (Angat, Bustos, San Jose del Monte, Doña Remedios Trinidad, Norzagaray, Pandi, San Ildefonso, San Miguel, San Rafael, Santa Maria)
• Tarlac (Moncada, Paniqui, Concepcion, Anao, Tarlac City, Gerona, La Paz, Pura, Ramos, Victoria, San Manuel)
• Nueva Ecija (Guimba, Licab, Quezon, Aliaga, Zaragoza, Jaen, Cabiao, San Isidro, Gapan, General Tinio, Peñaranda, San Leonardo, Santa Rosa, Cabanatuan, Palayan, San Antonio)

Yellow rainfall warning (Flooding in flood-prone areas)

• Nueva Ecija (Bongabon, Carranglan, Cuyapo, Gabaldon, General Mamerto Natividad, Laur, Llanera, Lupao, Nampicuan, Pantabangan, Rizal, San Jose, Santo Domingo, Muñoz, Talavera, Talugtug)

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain with occasional heavy rains within the next three hours is expected in the following areas:

• Laguna (Luisiana, Alaminos, Bay, Calauan, Liliw, Los Baños, Magdalena, Majayjay, Nagcarlan, Pagsanjan, Pila, Rizal, San Pablo, Santa Cruz, Victoria, Cavinti, Kalayaan, Lumban, Paete)
• Batangas (Agoncillo, Alitagtag, Balete, Batangas City, Bauan, Tanauan, Cuenca, Ibaan, Lipa, Lobo, Mabini, Malvar, Mataasnakahoy, Padre Garcia, Rosario, San Jose, San Juan, San Luis, San Nicolas, San Pascual, Santa Teresita, Taal, Taysan, Tingloy, Santo Tomas)

According to PAGASA, the light to moderate rains affecting Quezon (General Nakar and Infanta) are forecast to persist for three hours and affect nearby areas.

Several classes for August 29, 2026 have been suspended due to the bad weather.

The state weather bureau advised the public and concerned Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices to monitor the weather conditions and watch for the next warning to be issued at 11:00 p.m. —LDF, GMA News
