Habagat rains expected over Luzon, Visayas

The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will continue to dominate the country’s weather, bringing cloudy skies and rains over Luzon and Visayas, PAGASA said in its early Saturday morning forecast.

Monsoon rains are expected over Occidental Mindoro, while Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, and Antique will experience occasional rains.

The Ilocos Region, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, the rest of Central Luzon, the rest of CALABARZON, the rest of MIMAROPA, Abra, Benguet, and Northern Samar will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of Luzon and Visayas.

Mindanao will experience localized thunderstorms.

Heavy rainfall outlook

Occidental Mindoro may receive 100 to 200 millimeters of rain on Saturday, while Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, and Antique may record 50 to 100 mm of rainfall.

On Sunday, 50 to 100 mm of rain is expected over Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro.

For Monday, September 7, PAGASA expects 50 to 100 mm of rain over La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters are expected across the country.
