Habagat to continue affecting Luzon, Western Visayas

Cloudy skies and rain are expected to persist across Luzon and parts of the Visayas due to the Southwest Monsoon, or Habagat, state weather bureau PAGASA said Wednesday afternoon.

In the next 24 hours, Zambales will experience occasional rains, while Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Central Luzon, Batanes, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

The rest of Luzon, along with Aklan, Capiz, and Negros Oriental, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Localized thunderstorms are expected to prevail over the rest of the country.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are forecast over Luzon and the western section of the Visayas.

The rest of the Philippines will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.

Sunrise in Metro Manila is expected at 5:44 a.m. on Thursday. —VBL, GMA News
