This coming July, Lauren Young will star in an explosive film that will keep you on the edge of your seats. Lauren shared the whirlwind of emotions she experienced when she portrayed the role of Jody Amistoso in Overtime.
According to Lauren, she had a lot of fun doing this film. As an actress she enjoys challenge, and her role as Jody tested her physically and emotionally.
She said, “It's more of action at saka it's very draining emotionally because there's so many emotional levels like being scared, being traumatized.”
“I don't know how it feels like to have a bomb on me. So I have to put myself in a state na siyempre may bomba. 'Di ba parang ang hirap na mapunta ka sa ganoong lugar. It was very challenging. But I have the right guidance naman from everyone,” Lauren added.
Lauren revealed that Overtime was created by people who shared the same passion in filmmaking. She mentioned that the shoot was a breeze because the people behind Overtime know how they wanted the film to materialize.
For Lauren, Overtime resembles a Hollywood thriller. She mentioned, “I like the story [of Overtime], I think it's very different. I think in a way, Hollywood. ‘Di ba mahilig sila sa Hollywood yung mga ganyan, chasing, bomb threats.”
Lauren said the trailer is much lighter than the film. “For me, the film, when we're shooting it and I was reading the script, it's much darker than how the trailer portrays. Kasi yung trailer medyo light pa siya e. Parang may comic relief kasi siya, yung trailer. But then, also in the film there's comic relief, but it's actually much more darker,” she disclosed.
Catch Overtime, starring Lauren Young and Richard Gutierrez, in cinemas on July 2.
