In 2019, the Philippines witnessed the grand directorial debut of one of the entertainment industry's gems, Michael V. who brought to life the family drama movie ‘Family History.’ The movie—which earned recognition in February 2020 by bagging the “Natatanging Pelikulang Pampamilya” special award in the 4th Guild of Educators, Mentors, and Students (GEMS) Awards—tells the story of a simple family man named Alex Dela Cruz (Michael V.), whose perfect life is turned upside-down after he learns that his wife May (Dawn Zulueta) has cancer. 'Family History,' a brainchild of Mic Test Entertainment and GMA Pictures, assembled the best-of-the-best in the entertainment industry led by Direk Bitoy and exceptional TV-movie star Dawn Zulueta. As a special Father’s Day treat this month, the Philippine TV premiere of ‘Family History’ will finally happen on June 20 on GMA Blockbusters right after All-Out Sundays. Read more

For the first time, Viva Films, GMA Pictures, and APT Entertainment signed a partnership to co-produce the Philippine movie adaptation of the Japanese drama, 'Pure Soul,' on Tuesday, March 2, at Sourdough Cafe in Quezon City  The monumental movie project will feature Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards and New Generation's Movie Queen Bea Alonzo.   Joining Alden and Bea at the contract signing were Viva Films chairman and CEO Vincent del Rosario, GMA Pictures president Annette Gozon-Valdes, and APT Entertainment president and CEO Mike Tuviera.   Check out what happened during the contract signing here.
