Masbate City officially kicked off the celebration of the 28th Rodeo Festival with a grand ceremony on February 16, 2024 that marked the beginning of festivities scheduled from April 1 to 14, 2024.

The event began with a parade around the city center and towards the Rodeo Arena.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing and a pledge of support were also conducted involving various LGUs and private agencies.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) Bicol expressed optimism that even the kick-off ceremony was met with enthusiasm and excitement from the public.

“I’m sure this coming April this gonna be a big hit... ito dapat nasa bucket list nila to kasi yung talagang bang festival pwede mong  maexperience sa bawat iba ibang probinsya, ito kakaibang festival," Herbie Aguas, the Regional Director of DOT Bicol, said.

The agency also said that the celebration of the Rodeo Festival is not only recognized locally in the Philippines but also in other countries.

The Rodeo Festival Grounds will be open from April 1 to 14 featuring a beer plaza, food park, fiesta rides, trade fair, and other activities.

Meanwhile, the team arrivals for the Philippine Rodeo Finals 2024 is expected on April 6-8, with the registration, billeting, and rules orientation.

April 9 marks the opening day and the first day of the competition, featuring a grand parade, opening program, and the commencement of the Rodeo Finals. The day will conclude with a Welcome Night.

On April 10, a cattle drive followed by an open team penning in the morning will be highlighted, with the Rodeo Finals continuing from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m..

Day 3 on April 11 continues with morning activities yet to be announced, followed by the Rodeo Finals from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with another night activity yet to be revealed.

April 12, starts with Rodeo Finals from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., followed by another session from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. 

The evening features People's Night organized by the Provincial Government and a Sports Day.

The Philippine Rodeo Finals concludes on April 13, with the Rodeo Finals from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., followed by the Awarding ceremony and a celebratory party at the Rodeo Arena.
