Several houses considered as illegal structures and other obstructions that blocked a drainage project in Barangay 35, Cagayan de Oro were demolished on Thursday, May 9, 2024.
Personnel of the barangay and the city’s Task Group Demolition demolished the houses and other illegal structures as these hampered the drainage work in the area.
Police and members of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA) were deployed in the area to provide security.
The City Houses and Urban Development Department (CHUDD) is facilitating the possible relocation for the affected families if they qualify for the housing program.
Affected families were also given immediate food assistance from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
