The Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (CENPELCO) will replace old electric poles in several barangays in Mangaldan, Pangasinan on August 8, 2024.
The poles, which were made of wood and many of which were already leaning, will be replaced with concrete ones to ensure public safety.
Rodrigo Corpuz, General Manager of CENPELCO, said.
As part of this upgrade, there will be an eight-hour power interruption from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the barangays of:
- Bantayan,
- Talogtog,
- Bateng East; and,
- Bateng West.
In addition to replacing the poles, the scheduled work includes clearing of road right-of-way and replacing insulators to prevent unexpected power interruptions.
Residents are now preparing for the power outage.
Meanwhile, the generation charge for electricity decreased by eight centavos in July 2024.
If the demand for electricity continues to drop, residents might see further reductions in their electricity bills in September 2024.
