At least 222 new units of solar streetlights were installed at the national highway in the Municipality of Bobon, Province of Northern Samar.
The solar streetlights are set to illumine a 5.5-kilometer stretch of thoroughfare from Barangay Poblacion to Barangay Dancalan.
The Local Government Unit allocated P20 million for the said project.
Providing streetlights is seen to promote safety among motorists and pad further vehicular accidents.
The project is described as a significant help to Bobon being part of the road network connecting Luzon and areas in Eastern Visayas.
In 2023, at least 114 units of solar streetlights were installed at the national highway in Barangay Magsaysay.
