A senior citizen was gored by a carabao in Pilar town, Camotes Island, Cebu.

The 70-year-old grandfather was confirmed to be a resident of Barangay Dapdap, Pilar. 

According to Police Master Sergeant Julius Navarro, desk officer of Pilar Police Station, the man went to a hilly part of the barangay to gather firewood, but failed to return home.

When members of his family started looking for him, he was found dead.

He was believed gored by a carabao, as shown by the marks of the wound on his tummy.

Navarro added that the family of the victim has settled with the owner of the carabao, as the latter vowed to assist in the funeral expenses.
