More Filipinos are registering for the National ID at the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) office in Calasiao, Pangasinan, as the ID becomes a key requirement for government transactions and services.

Erlinda Castro, 45, was among the early registrants.

She applied for her child’s National ID because they needed it for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

“Kasi kailangan, requirement namin sa 4Ps. Kailangan po e,” she said.

Meanwhile, Andrea Soriano, 25, updated her National ID birthdate to ensure accuracy for future applications.

“Magagamit natin siya for applying other IDs like kailangan ng passport, magagamit natin siya,” she said.

FASTER SERVICE

The PSA has launched a special lane for those with physical, digital, or e-Phil ID cards.

“Sa ating tanggapan, may memorandum tayong inilabas na mag-start ng 12 noon yung pagpila ng mga mayroong ID card holder, e-Phil ID at digital para makakuha ng civil registry documents,” Edgar Norberte, Chief Statistical Specialist, PSA-Pangasinan, said.

With this system, walk-in clients with National IDs can now request copy issuance, authentication, and certification of civil registry documents without appointment bookings.

As of January 2025, a total of 2,718,202 individuals have registered for the National ID in Pangasinan.

Of these, 2,109,343 have already received their ID cards, accounting for 87 percent completion.

PSA encourages the public to register for the National ID to enjoy faster and easier access to government services.
