At least 16 people suffered from exhaustion and heat exposure during the Pamulinawen Festival in Laoag City.

The 16 were participants and spectators, including elderly women, of the dance parade. They reportedly felt dizzy and struggled to breathe due to the intense heat.

Rescuers and paramedics were quick to provide them with medical help. All of them recovered eventually after resting in ambulances, according to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC).

The dance parade was part of the festivities celebrating Laoag City’s annual festival.
