Authorities in Calasiao, Pangasinan have suspected that a man who was found dead under a mango tree in Barangay Poblacion East may have died from falling from the tree.
Initial investigation revealed the victim had scratches on his body these were reportedly not signs of foul play.
Jonathan, a witness, was shocked to find the body while picking mangoes.
“Kukuha sana ako ng mangga para kakainin namin. Noong nasa taas na ako, nakita ko 'yung sumbrero niya, pagkatapos pagkatingin ko sa baba, nakita ko siya na at bumaba na ako,” he said.
Neighbors said the victim was known to be a frequent drinker and may have climbed the tree to pick mangoes.
Investigation into the incident continues, as of this writing.
