Burglars carted away approximately P40,000 from a pizza store in Talisay City, Cebu Province.
The incident took place dawn on March 18, 2025 in Barangay San Roque.
The Talisay City Police disclosed that they already have persons of interest in the burglary. The persons are said to be members of “Buklas Bubong Gang” who are from an adjacent city.
The incident was caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera. The footage showed that two men whose faces were obscured by caps they wore were outside the pizza store.
One of the men bashed the CCTV camera mounted at the door and proceeded to destroy the door of the store.
The other person sat outside of the store, acted as a lookout, and tried to hide his companion from view while the latter destroyed the door.
In another CCTV footage, the burglar was seen entering the store and heading straight to the cashier area.
He went to the manager’s office and took two boxes that contained the store proceeds from the previous night worth approximately P40,000.
It was learned that the pizza store closes at 1 a.m. and opens at 9 a.m.
Employees said that the doors of the store are already open when they arrived at about 7 a.m. on March 18, 2025.
Gregore Emmanuel Galocdoc, baker; Kristel Ann Iligan, store attendant; and Daisy Cañeda, store manager, were one in saying that the doorknob was destroyed and that saw marks were apparent.
Two locks mounted at the manager’s office to secure supposedly the area were also destroyed.
Police Lt. Col. Maila Maramag, officer in charge of Talisay City Police Station, said that the two burglars were identified to be members of the said gang.
Maramag thanked the owners of establishments in Talisay City who complied with the mounting of functional CCTVs that have helped establish the identity of unscrupulous individuals.
The police have coordinated with their counterparts in the adjacent city and town to track down the suspects and whether they are the same persons involved in other incidents of burglary in Talisay City.
