A fire struck 19 houses in Cadiz City, Province of Negros Occidental.
The incident evening on April 20, 2025 occurred past 8 p.m. in Barangay Zone 1, Cadiz City.
At least 16 houses were gutted while three were damaged partially that affected a total of 30 families or 118 individuals.
As of this writing, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has yet to determine the cause of the fire and the cost of damages.
Meanwhile, a fire destroyed 11 unserviceable bus units in Barangay Cabug, Bacolod City afternoon on April 20, 2025.
A security guard said that prior to the fire, he heard an explosion.
A few of the said units were used reportedly by some bus company employees as a bunkhouse.
A 62-year-old man sustained minor injury due to the said fire.
Damage was estimated to have reached about P20,000.
“For the cause, electrical ignition. Ang service line ng isang bunkhouse doon, naputol dahil nilipad ang bubong. Accidentally, ang live wire bumagsak sa isang junk (na bus) at yun ang sinimulan ng apoy,” said FO2 Rolin John Paulan, chief investigator at the Bacolod City BFP.
