Four houses were destroyed by a fire in Lapu-Lapu City.
The incident struck Purok Balanghoy, Barangay Gun-ob past 5 p.m. on June 19, 2025.
In a video recording taken by netizen, Nicole Vallyry Orocay, flames engulfed houses quickly in the said location.
Three houses were razed to the ground, while one was partially damaged.
According to FO3 Jeffrey Gerodiaz, fire investigator at Lapu-Lapu City Fire District, the fire is caused possibly by an unattended egg tray lit supposedly to drive away mosquitoes.
The assessment is based on the testimony of the child of the owner of the house where the fire broke out.
The owner of the house sustained burns on the hand.
Gerodiaz said that damage left behind by the fire is worth approximately P120,000.
