The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Misamis Oriental Chapter has launched “Tambag Legal,” a free legal aid program for those who are facing legal problems but cannot afford a private lawyer.

IBP-Misamis Oriental said the free legal consultation is available every Tuesday and Friday.

“Obligasyon ni sa abogado nga mo tabang kay part sa among duty dili lang mo adto sa korte pero part sa amang oath mag promote ug access to justice,” IBP-Misamis Oriental Executive Director, Atty. Ernesto Neri, said.

Aside from free consultations, IBP also offers free legal representation, but clients must meet specific requirements such as being indigent or unable to afford legal fees.

More than 100 lawyers are active members of IBP in Misamis Oriental and Cagayan de Oro City.

“Kung naay merit meaning dili lang ni harassment case among dawaton pero kinahanglan mopasar sab ka sa means test aduna ka bay kapasidad mo bayad og abogado kung naa mabalibaran gyud namo,” IBP-Misamis Oriental President, Atty. Greg Pallugna, said.

For those who wish to avail of the free legal aid services, IBP-Misamis Oriental office is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday.
