A woman about to give birth in Hinoba-an town, Province of Negros Occidental was assisted on board a barangay emergency vehicle no less than the barangay chairman himself when she could not hold the baby any longer.
According to Barangay Damutan Chairman Rolando Jungco, first he was delivering a tarpaulin tent at a wake when a call for help came up. Little did he know that he is set to assist in a different kind of delivery this time.
This is because while the woman was in transit to the hospital, about 30 kilometers away from the barangay, she could not hold any longer as the baby pushed its head out.
In lieu of a midwife, the barangay chairman responded to the situation promptly by assisting the woman.
The woman delivered a baby girl.
