The Philippine Red Cross–Pangasinan Chapter honored individuals and organizations that continue to support its blood services program during the 2025 Biskeg Ya Dala Blood Services Awarding Ceremony in Lingayen, Pangasinan.
The annual recognition aims to thank and commend local governments, schools, private groups, and individuals who promote voluntary blood donation.
“This is an annual recognition for our volunteers and our donors… We believe that this is where volunteerism comes in and that is what Red Cross is all about,” Dr. Vivencio Jose Villaflor III, chairman of the Board of Directors of PRC Pangasinan, said.
Among the highlights was the awarding of the Blood Galloner Award to individuals who have donated blood several times as an act of compassion.
“Na-realized ko how significant po yung ginagawa ko and yung maiisip na ang dami ko na pala naidonate is parang achievement po siya and karagdagan na fulfillment para sa akin,” Richelle Soriano, an awardee, said.
The Aliguas Award was also given to GMA Regional TV–Dagupan for its consistent support of blood donation through its annual nationwide bloodletting drive.
Despite the high demand for blood, PRC–Pangasinan assured that the supply remains stable because of regular bloodletting activities.
“Sa ngayon sumasapat naman oi yung supply ng dugo po natin, nabibigyan naman po natin kahit papaano at paunti-unti yung mga nangangailangan ng dugo… Sa awa naman po ng Diyos at sa awa po ng mga donors natin, nasasapatan naman po ang pangangailangan ng dugo,” Rex Vincent Escaño, administrator of PRC Pangasinan, said.
