The Baguio City government has started giving free meals to qualified college students through its new Free Youth Meals for College Students program.

Under the program, beneficiaries will receive food vouchers worth P2,500 each month. These vouchers can be used in accredited food establishments across the city.

The initiative aims to reduce food insecurity and help students continue their studies.

According to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), the program will prioritize students from low-income families who are residents of Baguio.

The city has allocated P2.64 million for the first year of implementation, with possible adjustments depending on the CSWDO’s recommendations.

At least 100 students are expected to benefit in the initial rollout.
