One was injured in a smash-up of four vehicles in Iloilo City. 

The incident occurred in Barangay Banuyao, La Paz District, Iloilo City at 7:45 p.m. on September 1, 2025.

According to Police CMSgt. Edward Barrida, traffic investigator at Iloilo City Police Office - Traffic Enforcement Unit, three of four vehicles involved were traveling from Leganes town bound for La Paz.

A Toyota Liteace was about to take a turn from a gasoline station. A Toyota Fortuner was behind the Liteace. However, a Fuso Super Great Tractor head truck with a trailer behind it hit the Fortuner.

Due to the impact, the Fortuner hit the Liteace that in turn hit a Chevrolet Captiva traversing from La Paz going to Leganes.

The drivers have been identified as alias “Johnwil,” a 20-year-old student, and resident of Barangay Cari Minor, Leganes who drove the Toyota Fortuner; alias “Eldison,” 40 years old, resident of Barangay San Jose, Pototan who drove the Fuso truck; alias “Randy,” 47 years old, a resident of Lambunao, driver of the Toyota Liteace, and alias “Sean,” 27-year-old employee and resident  of Barangay Poblacion, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, driver of the Chevrolet Captiva.

Alias “Randy” sustained wounds on his forehead and on the eyes and was rushed to the hospital.

The truck driver, alias "Eldison," said he lost control of the vehicle due to alleged slippery road brought about by persistent rain. 

As of this writing, police said damages are yet to be disclosed for possible settlement.
