Residents of Barangay Pula in Canlaon City, Province of Negros Oriental are affected by ash emission events recorded on Kanlaon Volcano. The second incident was recorded morning on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, while the other weak emission was observed on the previous day.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) Negros Island Region (NIR), the ash emissions generated plumes that drifted toward the north-northeast direction.
Affected areas are Canlaon City in Negros Oriental to San Carlos City in Negros Occidental.
As of this writing, GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak tried to seek the side of the Local Government Unit of Canlaon City for the exact number of affected families affected by the ash emissions.
There is no report yet on any forced evacuation of affected residents.
However, PHIVOLCS urged affected residents to wear facemask.
Further, residents have been reminded to avoid entry into the 4-kilometer permanent danger zone, according to Anthonimy Maniego of PHIVOLCS NIR.
