The Province of Siquijor marked its 54th "Adlaw sa Probinsya."
Employees of government offices and agencies, as well as private groups joined a grand parade on September 17, 2025.
Various farm produce were displayed in a trade fair, while display of artworks and paintings highlighted the province's culture and tradition.
Siquijor was once a sub-province of Negros Oriental, but in 1971 it has become an independent province by virtue of Republic Act 6398.
The Charter Day anniversary is a source of joy for members of Isla Kalayo Arts Guild (IKAG) who were given the platform to showcase the cultural heritage of the Province of Siquijor through their masterpieces.
“Nalipay kaayo mi kay dako kaayo og oportunidad ni nga maka-showcase sa among artworks diri sa isla sa Siquijor,” Karl Russel Matas, head of IKAG, said.
Governor Jake Vincent Villa said he is glad that the celebration has once again showcased the culture and tradition of the island-province.
"Nagpasalamat ko sa nagsuporta sa atoa especially sa atong culture and arts– from the paintings to the Solili which is part of our culture, part of our Siquijor, and how it became Siquijor,” Villa said.
The celebration this year featured the Solili Dance Festival with the active participation of the Department of Education Siquijor Division.
The contingent from San Juan Integrated School in the Municipality of San Juan was adjudged champion of the dance festival.
San Juan is one of six municipalities in the province. The other five are Siquijor, Larena, Enrique Villanueva (fondly called by its old name "Talingting"), Maria, and Lazi.
A fireworks display capped the celebration.
"Nagpasalamat gyud ko nga nagkahiusa ang mga katawhan dinhi nato sa atong probinsya [sa] ika-54 Araw ng Siquijor,” said Siquijor Lone District Rep. Zaldy Villa, father of the governor.
