A 12-hour power interruption in areas of Iloilo City is set on Sunday, October 19, 2025, while areas in the Provinces of Aklan and Capiz will experience power outage on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
The power outage in areas of Iloilo City is set from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Ernie Lyn Vergantino who operates a laundry shop in Barangay Kahirupan, Iloilo City expressed dismay over the power interruption.
Vergantino said that sales would have doubled on weekends but with the scheduled brownout, loss is expected.
“Wala kaming income sa one day namin. Sayang yung kikitain pa sana namin,” Vergantino said.
Based on an announcement of MORE Power, the entire barangays of Flores, Gloria, Roxas Village and San Jose in Iloilo City Proper will be affected by the power interruption, as well as parts of 17 other barangays of Iloilo City Proper.
Aside from this, a six-hour brownout in areas under Molo Feeder 3 is also set.
In addition, a three-hour brownout is set in areas under Arevalo Feeders 1 and 2, Molo Feeders 1, 2, 4 and 5, Diversion Feeders 2 and 4, and La Paz Feeder 4.
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) will facilitate maintenance activities in the said areas, while MORE Power will conduct ride-on activities.
“Para ito sa ginagawa at ipinatutupad nilang rehabilitation works at activities upang maayos ang kanilang facilities at iba pang aayusin sa kanilang serbisyo,” said Angel Tan, MORE Power spokesperson.
Further, a power interruption is set in areas of 18 barangays in Pavia town, Iloilo Province and parts of two barangays in Santa Barbara town on October 19, 2025 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On Saturday, October 18, 2025, a four-hour power outage is set in Tangalan town, Province of Aklan except Barangays Tagas, Panayakan, Lanipga, Vivo, and Tamukoe.
The power interruption is set from 8 a.m. to noontime.
Furthermore, of 20 barangays in Maayon town and areas of Panit-an and Pontevedra towns in the Province of Capiz, power interruption is set from 6 a.m to 2 p.m. for the relocation of electrical posts.
