A rerouting plan for huge vehicles has been recommended after an assessment made by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau on ground cracks in Barangay Mambaroto, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
According to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), weak ground shaking is felt as huge vehicles pass at the area.
Mararamdaman talaga natin,” said Dionilo Bogtae, head of Sipalay CDRRMO.
Earlier, the CDRRMO warned motorists of possible ground collapse and the danger of a landslide because of the apparent ground cracks in the area.
As a solution, the Local Government Unit is set to limit the load capacity of huge vehicles passing in the area, as these ground cracks are observed to have widened.
