Several areas in a barangay in Zamboanga City experienced flooding following heavy rains.
Roads in Barangay Sangali resembled rivers as floodwaters submerged parts of the barangay, affecting several houses situated by the road.
In Sitio Daap, floodwaters rose to nearly knee-deep levels, inundating several homes in the area.
However, the floodwaters subsided after a few hours.
Authorities are still verifying if there were casualties or residents displaced due to the flooding.
According to the local government, clogged drainage canals were identified as one of the major causes of the flooding, which they plan to address to prevent future incidents.
State weather bureau PAGASA said scattered rain showers and thunderstorms triggered the downpour in the city.
