After leading the launch of Oplan Kontra Baha (anti-flooding operational plan) for Metro Cebu waterways on Friday, November 21, 2025, President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. graced the 31st Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum at a resort in Lapu-Lapu City.

In his speech, the President underscored the vital role of space technology especially its application to the agricultural sector and to disaster response.

The gathering was attended by various space agency heads, governmental bodies, international organizations, private companies, universities, and research institutes from 40 countries.

This is the second time that the Philippines hosted the Asia Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum known as the largest space-related conference in the Asia-Pacific region.
