Residents of Sitio Riverside in Barangay Embarcadero, Mangaldan, Pangasinan said they could no longer sleep in peace after their homes were pelted with stones again, weeks after a similar incident was first reported.

The community earlier raised the issue in October 2025. Authorities identified a suspect then and spoke with him on October 28. But residents said the stoning resumed a few days later, this time more frequent and more disruptive.

“Istorbo po rin kasi sa pagtulog namin. Kasi biglang may lumalagabog. Nagkakaano po sa pagtulog namin,” Beverly Embornal, a resident, said.

A video taken by a resident captured the sound of stones hitting the rooftops. One home even suffered a broken window due to the repeated attacks.

Shirley Biagtan said her 16-year-old son was hit by a rebounding stone.

“Pagka-ano nung bato, tumalbog sa pintuan kaya tumama sa kaniya… Nagagalit din ako, gusto kong sumugod pero late niya nang nasabi sa akin,” she said.

The barangay council and the police have increased their patrols from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. while the investigation continues.

Barangay chairperson Teofilo Frianieza Jr. said the attacks usually happen between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.

“Mga 7 o’clock kung minsan, tapos pangalawa–pangatlong pagbato na aabot hanggang 10 o’clock,” he said.

The barangay is also proposing funding for new CCTV cameras to strengthen security and help identify the suspect behind the latest incidents.
