The City Government of Isabela in Basilan is ramping up efforts to improve digital connectivity that would benefit households and businesses in the city.
Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman met with officials of a telecommunication company recently to discuss fiber and broadband expansion to enhance the city’s growing digital economy.
The expansion includes an increase in cell sites and broadband and fiber-to-the-home lines. With these, internet connections and communication lines are expected to grow significantly.
Hataman added that the partnership between the local government and the private firm is expected to boost digital-based programs in various sectors, including education, health, and public services, among others.
The city mayor also emphasized that digital transformation plays a crucial role in making government services more inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the needs of residents.
