Smiles filled a gift-giving activity in Dagupan City as fire volunteers brought early Christmas cheer to children, while a separate outreach effort delivered basic services and food to an Agta community in Cagayan.

In Dagupan City, fire volunteers held their annual Christmas activity for children, aimed at spreading joy and giving hope during the holiday season. One of the beneficiaries was The Haven Regional Center for Children, a facility that shelters street children.

The children enjoyed a magic show and games before receiving food and small gifts. Organizers said the activity is part of a long-standing tradition among fire volunteers to bring happiness to children in need.

According to the Dagupan City Social Welfare and Development Office, the simple gathering meant a lot to the young participants.

“Nagpapasalamat na sila ang napiling bigyan at nakalabas ang mga bata para mag-enjoy,” Diana Abellera, Administrative Assistant III of the Dagupan CSWD Office, said.

Meanwhile, an Agta community in Barangay Tanglagan, Gattaran, Cagayan also received early Christmas assistance through a development and outreach program led by the 2nd Cagayan Provincial Mobile Force Company, together with other stakeholders.

The community was provided with free water, solar lights, and improved toilet facilities to help address basic needs. Police volunteers also distributed rice, milk for malnourished children, and two water filters to ensure access to clean and safe drinking water.

A feeding activity was also held for the entire community as part of the outreach. Organizers said the initiative aims to support long-term development while responding to the immediate needs of indigenous families.
