A fire struck four houses in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City.
According to Jenifer Benito, a fire victim, she found out suddenly that her store on the ground floor of her house was on fire on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
“Ang laki ng apoy sa likod. Tapos, after five (5) minutes, nasunog na ang grocery ko. Ang sakit, ang lungkot kasi syempre, pinaghirapan ko iyan,” Benito said.
Aside from Benito's house, two neighboring houses were damaged partially, while one house was gutted totally.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), electrical ignition or power line faulty may have caused the fire.
“Upon arrival namin, nakita namin na mayroong isang bahay na na-consume na ng apoy. Based sa fire pattern, mula sa divider na wall,” FO2 Rolin Paulan, investigator at the Bacolod City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), said.
The owner of the house where the fire allegedly started did not give a statement anymore to GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas.
Two residents sustained burns in an attempt to save belongings.
The two are already in fine condition, according to the BFP.
“Again, before tayo magdagdag ng appliances, it’s better to consult a licensed electrical engineer to check ng total loads,” Paulan added.
The fire cost over P200,000 in damages.
