The City Government of Talisay City, Cebu has vowed to fasttrack the processing of documents for the construction of a hanging bridge in Purok Sambag, Barangay Campo 4 (Cuatro).

Mayor Gerald Anthony Gullas vowed to accelerate processing of documents, following a video on students and parents walking along a landslide-prone path by the mountainside from school going home.

The residents avoided a swollen river afternoon on February 9, 2026. The river was swollen after the shear line dumped persistent rains.

A hanging bridge in the area that was completed in May 2025 was washed out when Typhoon Tino lashed in the Visayas in November 2025.

Documents will support allocation of funds for the project.

The mayor vowed to have the processing fasttracked in order to attend to the urgent need.

Gullas said he had already talked to Barangay Campo 4 (Cuatro) Chairwoman Rowena Edar to direct barangay tanods (village watchman) to monitor and prohibit residents from traversing the area.
