A nine-day Novena and fiesta Masses have begun at the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Manaoag in Pangasinan, as the church prepares for the 100th canonical coronation of the revered image.
The Novena started on Monday, April 13, 2026, and will run until April 21, a day before the main celebration. Masses are being led by priests from different dioceses.
Church officials continue to invite devotees to attend the Novena and fiesta Masses in the lead-up to the coronation.
On April 22, more than one million devotees are expected to gather for the centennial canonical coronation.
Authorities, including church leaders, the local government, and the police, said preparations are in place to ensure a smooth and orderly event.
“On the 22nd of April, we will be having the re-enactment and also there will be a mass to be presided by Apostolic Nuncio,” Rev. Fr. Roberto Reyes, spokesperson of the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Manaoag, said.
