A 63-year-old pedicab driver in Mangaldan, Pangasinan is earning praise after returning a bag containing cash, jewelry, and other valuables left behind by a passenger.

Larry Manaois, a resident of Barangay Tebag, has been driving a pedicab for nearly five decades to support his family and send his three children to school.

His honesty was tested after he found a bag left inside his pedicab while working.

The bag was later identified as belonging to a senior citizen balikbayan from San Jacinto, Pangasinan.

According to the Mangaldan Public Information Office, the bag contained P700 cash, an undetermined amount of US dollars, a cellphone, jewelry, and important identification cards.

Local officials said this was already the third time Manaois returned lost items to their owners.

The local government recognized Manaois for his honesty and also gave him a reward along with the owner of the bag.

Officials said the incident serves as a reminder that integrity and honesty remain important despite daily hardships.
