A 12-year-old boy died after he was hit by a falling tree amid strong winds and rains in Barangay Tamugan, Davao City.
According to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), the victim’s aunt said that the boy was outside a small hut when an ipil-ipil tree fell suddenly fell on him.
Authorities believe that the tree was uprooted due to heavy rain and strong winds at that time.
The boy died on the spot.
