A barangay in Dagupan City has launched an online portal that allows residents to apply for documents, file complaints, and receive community updates without visiting the barangay hall, as local officials push to make public services faster and more accessible.
Barangay Pantal processes more than 100 transactions daily, most of them for barangay clearances and certificates of indigency.
To reduce waiting time and streamline transactions, the barangay launched the Pantal 360 Local Governance Portal, allowing residents to access most barangay services online.
Barangay Chairperson Julita Perez said the portal was created to make services easier to access, especially for residents applying for clearances.
"For easy access ito sa barangay lalo sa mga clearances,” she said,
Through the portal, residents can request barangay services, submit complaints, and receive real-time announcements from the barangay.
Officials said the system reduces the need for residents to make repeated trips to the barangay hall, saving both time and money.
"Maganda ito kasi makakatipid sa oras at pera," Olga Arbolente, a resident, said.
Barangay officials also assured residents that personnel will monitor and respond to concerns submitted through the portal around the clock.
Perez said designated staff members are available 24/7 to assist users.
"Mayroong mga nakatalaga na sasagot diyan, para makatipid ang ating mga constituent, maka-save sila lalo ngayon mahal ang gasolina. At least makakatipid sila sa pamasahe," she said.
Barangay officials urged residents to register online to gain easy access to the portal's services.
According to the barangay, Pantal is the only village in Dagupan City operating a comprehensive online governance portal, as of posting.
