The Office of the Special Assistant to the President (OSAP) led the distribution of medical assistance and the rollout of the “Bawat Bayan Makikinabang” (BBM) Rice Distribution Program in Zamboanga Sibugay on Monday, August 10, 2026.

SAP Anton Lagdameo, Jr. visited the Dr. George T. Hofer Medical Center, where he announced the release of P10 million in Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients (MAIFIP) funding to support the hospital’s zero-billing program for qualified patients.

The funding is part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to expand access to healthcare services and lessen the financial burden faced by indigent patients seeking treatment in government hospitals.

Lagdameo also inspected key facilities and ongoing expansion projects to evaluate the hospital’s capacity to provide quality and accessible healthcare services.

During the visit, Lagdameo also led the rollout of the “Bawat Bayan Makikinabang” (BBM) Rice Distribution Program, under which rice assistance funded through the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) was distributed to beneficiaries from identified barangays in the province.

In a Facebook post, Governor Ann Hofer said around 49,200 vulnerable families are set to receive 10 kilos of rice each, with the assistance to be distributed over a three-month period.

The governor said the program was made possible through a P100 million fund downloaded to the province under LGSF.

“The Province procured the rice directly from a cooperative under the Sagip Saka Act, ensuring that the assistance provides much-needed support to the beneficiaries while also creating a market for local farmers,” Hofer said.
