For those already overwhelmed by the demands of the New Year, a new way to relieve stress is available in Naga City, Camarines Sur - target shooting.

"Pag January, marami tayong bayaran, eh, marami tayong mga dapat asikasuhin, marami tayong dapat gawin na mga papel… Tapos umpisa na naman, syempre back to zero," says Benjie Enciso, a gun enthusiast and professional shooter.

The activity involves using real firearms, which is why range officers are always present to assist.

"Once you try shooting—you feel nervous, at the first-time nervous ka, parang yung at the time na nafe-feel mo, [at] pag nakapag-shoot ka na parang you overcome something,” Jasper Peñaflor, another gun owner and enthusiast, says.

The indoor activity, which is available in Naga City, Camarines Sur, also reportedly promotes discipline - what with the cardinal rule gun owners follow: "Always treat all firearms as if they are loaded."

Those who will engage in the activity are encouraged to wear earplugs to protect themselves from the sound of gunshots.
