De La Salle University - Dasmariñas Senior High School (DLSU-D SHS) will be offering elective courses on various pop culture topics including one on Taylor Swift and the “enchanting world” of her “music artistry,” according to an official announcement on the school’s Facebook page last January 12, Friday.

Aside from its “???????????????????? ????????????: Swifties Unleashed!” elective, the academic institution disclosed a wide range of new course offerings that include a cycling and outdoors culture subject, a Spongebob Squarepants course, and another on Korean drama and pop references. It also has a specific course on understanding the psychology and attitude of cats.

“Dive into the enchanting world of Taylor Swift and explore the musical artistry that has captured hearts worldwide. This elective is your backstage pass to the magic behind the melodies,” the official post explained.

It garnered mostly positive sentiments from netizens, getting more than 400 heart and like reactions while some even took to the comment section to express their reactions.

“Apakalupet naman,” said Ersyllen Biñas.

“NEEEEDDDDDD,” commented Sharlyn Esguerra Rubio.

The announcement came a day after University of the Philippines Diliman likewise announced that it will be teaching a Taylor Swift-focused course that aims to examine and dissect the pop star’s performance “as a celebrity and how she can be used to explain our and, of course, media’s relationship with class, politics, gender, race, and fantasies of success and mobility,” as explained in an official Facebook post by UP College of Mass Communication.
