Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) in Santa Rosa City, Laguna proved the vow "for better or for worse" in a mass wedding ceremony held within the confines of the city jail.

The event, organized with the support of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and the Santa Rosa City LGU, aimed at providing inmates the opportunity to legalize their relationships and ensure that the dignity and rights of PDLs are respected.

Fifteen individuals in the 11 pairs who got married are PDLs who consider the ceremony a realization of a dream. Some of them had been in long-term relationships even before they landed in jail.

Still, they continue to hope they can be with their spouses under one roof again.

The newlyweds received marriage certificates from the Office of the Civil Registrar.

Santa Rosa City Mayor Arlene Arcillas attended the ceremony.
