Carla Abellana is an absolute crowd favorite whenever she graces a GMA Regional TV (RTV) event. Asked about her most memorable #KapusoFiesta moments, the multi-acclaimed actress shared two provinces in mind that take the cake - Negros Occidental and Iloilo.

The Kapuso homegrown, in a recent interview with GMA Regional TV News, shared that it is her visits to Ilolo and Negros Occidental, both her parents’ hometowns, that bring her the most joy and enthusiasm.

“Yung mga trips to Bacolod and Iloilo, most especially cos both sides of the family are from Bacolod and Iloilo. Sabi ko lagi is nakapunta ako doon sa mga probinsya namin hindi man to rest or to explore, or mga tour, kahit para siya sa trabaho - okay lang,” Carla said.

Though born and raised in Manila, the versatile actress still loves going back to her Visayan roots. Her father, veteran actor PJ “Rey” Abellana, is from Silay, Negros Occidental, while her mother, Rea Reyes, hails from Iloilo. Her maternal grandmother is Ilongga actress Delia Razon.

“I am a proud Ilongga, at hindi man ako naka-visit sa mga relatives namin doon, kahit papano through work nakita ko po yung mga fellow Ilonggos and Ilonggas,” the ‘Stolen Life’ lead actress added.

Asked what her favorite local destination is, Carla was quick to put Bohol on the pedestal - a province she appreciates for its majestic churches, pristine beaches, and close knit communities.

“Ang favorite ko siguro si Bohol, especially yung kanilang Baclayon church - yung simbahan nila doon. Well the last time i was there was a long time ago and napakaganda.. hindi pa ganon karami ang resorts, napakatahimik, napaka-close knit ng communities, and napakaganda ng beaches. Very pristine,” she commended.

It is GMA Regional TV’s objective to bring as many award-winning Kapuso artists and programs closer to the regions all over the Philippines, and Carla Abellana is already a favorite suki at different #KapusoFiestas and RTV events.

She most recently visited her hometown Iloilo to celebrate the Dinagyang Festival with Jennylyn Mercado, Mike Tan, and Bruce Roeland.
