Multi-awarded talk show host Boy Abunda remains a Kapuso after renewing his contract with GMA Network on February 12, 2024.
Tito Boy thanked GMA for the company's ever-growing trust and support.
“Ito ay nangangahulugan lamang na patuloy ang tiwala, ang suporta - this belief in all the things I can do and all the things I cannot. Maraming-maraming salamat,” said the veteran host on his renewal, two years after his Kapuso homecoming.
Among the GMA Executives who graced his contract renewal were GMA Chairman Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, President and Chief Executive Officer Gilberto R. Duavit Jr., Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong, Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, and Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group, and President and CEO of GMA Films Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes.
"Walang kaduda-duda na si Boy ngayon ang pinakamagaling na talk show host," lauded GMA Chairman Atty. Felipe L. Gozon.
Tito Boy, whose real name is Eugenio Romerica Abunda Jr., started his career with GMA in 1994 when he worked as a public relations consultant. He was then scouted to host a talk show program, eventually starring in “Show and Tell” (1994-1995) and “Startalk” (1995-1999).
In his message, the King of Talk expressed his elation for the opportunity to work in such a healthy workplace.
“Itong pagkakataon na ito na binigay ninyo sa akin, na makabalik sa GMA-7 at makatrabaho ang isang community of production, creative, technical people na napakahuhusay - araw-araw I go to the set because it's a happy place, it's a second home,” the "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" host said.
After a 23-year stint in another network, he made his Kapuso homecoming in 2022, signing an exclusive contract with GMA in December of that year.
A native of Borongan, Samar, Tito Boy has achieved numerous accolades as an entertainment, showbiz and public affairs show host. He is a PMPC Star Awards for TV hall-of-famer, winning a recognition from the award-giving body 29 times throughout his career.
"Lubos akong nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng ito, I will continue to do the show in gratitude and in love. Maraming maraming salamat," Boy Abunda said in a heartfelt message of gratitude.
